Finished mice cross stitches
After working on some Christmas kits that I’d had lurking for a while (see this post) I decided that it was just too weird doing Christmas in April so I had a look for what other kits I had that had never been started. I found this one for a couple of cute little mouse bookmarks.
I started off doing what I always think is the really exciting bit of starting a new kit and sorted out all of the treads - So pretty!
Then moved onto the mouse at the bottom.
Getting there. Just the kite and sun to add.
And finally each one has a coloured border to add around it to finish it off and define the size of the bookmark.

I put them onto a piece of card that I had punched with holes and wrote on the code for each of the stitches.
I always find it lightly scary cutting the Aida ready to begin. I knew it had to be cut in half for each of the two designs but I wanted to make sure I definitely cut it the right way.
And so time to begin. I started working on the rainy one first.
I tried to take photos after I had done each section of colour and I’ve made them onto a time lapse - here goes
Sorry it’s a little jumpy - I obviously didn’t take the photo in quite the same position each time.
Next I started working on the sunny one. I didn’t remember to take the same number of photos for this one so no time lapse I’m afraid for this one.
I started with the little bows as they were about the middle of the picture. Then moved onto the mouse at the bottom.
Getting there. Just the kite and sun to add.
And finally each one has a coloured border to add around it to finish it off and define the size of the bookmark.
Here they both are finished. Now just to make them into a bookmark.
Tah dah. I like the little mice. I think they’ll look good back to back as a bookmark.
